Synopsis
According to legend, the Tarian Pho dance originated from a tragic story about two teenagers (a boy and a girl) who were wrongly accused and sentenced to death. It is said that in the past, in the West Aceh region, there was a kingdom called "Kerajaan Kuala Batee". In this kingdom lived a beautiful young girl named Madion, who had been abandoned by her mother and left to be raised by her aunt, Makwa. Makwa also had a son named Malelang. As they grew older, Makwa intended to arrange a marriage between the two young ones.
