Rumbia di Ujung Senja

Synopsis

Atap daun rumbia menjadi salah satu unsur penting dalam pembangunan rumah adat Aceh karena memberikan hawa sejuk bagi penghuni dengan memanfaatkan sumber daya alam. Di Desa Sereumo, Kecamatan Indrapuri, ibu-ibu berumur memanfaatkan waktu luang setelah musim tanam padi dengan mengolah daun rumbia menjadi atap. Ilmu mengolah daun rumbia dari pohon hingga menjadi produk utuh sudah diwarisi dari tetua-tetuanya terdahulu. Saat ini, mereka sangat dibuat gundah karena sangat sulit untuk diwarisi ke generasi sekarang meskipun daun rumbia memiliki nilai jual tinggi.

The Rumbia leaf roof is a vital component of traditional Acehnese houses. These roofs are not only made from natural resources, but also provide a refreshing atmosphere for their inhabitants. In Sereumo village, located in the Indrapuri district, elderly women spend their free time after the rice planting season by processing Rumbia leaves into high-value Rumbia leaf roofs. They have inherited the knowledge of processing Rumbia leaves from their ancestors, and are currently concerned about the difficulty in passing this knowledge on to the younger generation.
