Synopsis
The Jamasan Pusaka ceremony is a traditional ritual that is performed by the Javanese people every month of Suro. This ceremony is associated with the "ancient elders" and is carried out by young people. The ceremony involves cleaning and bathing, as the word "Jamasan" means cleaning, and "Pusaka" refers to sacred objects or objects that hold spiritual power. Therefore, the Jamasan Pusaka ritual is approached in a metaphysical manner. Each keris blade used in this "sacred" ceremony requires certain preparations, such as providing offerings like traditional snacks, incense, oil, coconut water, various flowers like kantil, roses, and jasmine, as well as tumpengan for prayers. All these preparations are made collectively and through mutual cooperation, despite the inconvenience of fulfilling the "ubo rampe" requirement.
