Synopsis

The tradition of "dendang buai" to put children to sleep has been passed down from generation to generation in various ethnic communities around the world, especially in coastal and island communities on the west coast of Sumatra. Concern has arisen about the continuity of this tradition within families, as not many people understand its method, purpose, function, and benefits in introducing cultural appreciation to their children from infancy. This tradition is part of the unique characteristics and art styles of local communities, particularly in the Aceh Singkil Regency, Aceh Province, and many other islands.
