Desa Kiringan di Bantul, Yogyakarta, dikenal sebagai kampung jamu tradisional sejak dirintis oleh Mbah Joparto, seorang abdi dalem Keraton. Dari racikan kunyit, jahe, hingga temulawak, tradisi ini diwariskan lintas generasi dan menjadi identitas desa. Meski modernisasi terus berjalan, warga Kiringan menjaga kearifan lokal sambil berinovasi agar jamu tetap digemari. Dokumenter ini menyoroti perjalanan para perajin dan peran generasi muda dalam melestarikan warisan sehat dari alam.
The village of Kiringan in Bantul, Yogyakarta, has been known as a traditional jamu—Indonesia’s traditional herbal medicine made from natural ingredients—village since it was pioneered by Mbah Joparto, an abdi dalem of the Keraton. From blends of turmeric, ginger, to temulawak, this tradition has been passed down through generations and has become the village’s identity. Despite the waves of modernization, the people of Kiringan preserve their local wisdom while innovating to keep jamu relevant. This documentary highlights the journey of the artisans and the role of the younger generation in sustaining this natural heritage of health.
