The International Forum on Spice Route (IFSR) is an annual multidisciplinary forum that explores the historical, cultural, social, economic, ecological, and maritime significance of the Spice Routes. Initiated by Negeri Rempah Foundation and organized in collaboration with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), IFSR provides a collaborative platform for academics, researchers, policymakers, maritime communities, artists, cultural practitioners, NGOs, and wider publics to discuss the continuing relevance of the Spice Routes in contemporary society. The forum addresses issues such as cultural heritage, maritime connectivity, migration, sustainability, ethnobotany, innovation, creative expression, and community-based knowledge.
