Synopsis

Orasi ini menyampaikan perkembangan riset dan pengetahuan kupu-kupu di Indonesia. Hal ini mencakup nilai penting kupu-kupu bagi manusia, peluang, dan tantangan untuk memajukan pengetahuan mengenai kupu-kupu Indonesia.

Orasi ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman tentang biodiversitas kupu-kupu Indonesia. Aspek konservasi yang juga mencakup pemanfaatan kupu-kupu disampaikan untuk memberikan gambaran yang komprehensif mengenai kekayaan keanekaragaman kupu-kupu Indonesia dan potensi bagi kesejahteraan masyarakat. Langkah dan strategi untuk mempercepat perolehan data kupu-kupu Indonesia dipaparkan di sini.

Akselerasi ilmu pengetahuan tentang kupu-kupu Indonesia dapat dicapai dengan pelibatan masyarakat seperti halnya yang telah terjadi di negara-negara maju. Perkembangan teknologi informasi juga sangat mendukung pencapaian ini dan perlu terus diupayakan optimalisasinya.

Author Biography

Djunijanti Peggie, Pusat Riset Biosistematika dan Evolusi, BRIN

Djunijanti Peggie lahir di Bogor pada tanggal 7 Juni 1965 merupakan anak ketiga dari Bapak Prawira Rahardja dan Ibu Unayani. Menikah dengan Erwin Marjanto Dumalang dan dikaruniai tiga orang anak, yaitu Livia Larasati, Brianna Dinda, dan Daniel Damarpatih Dumalang.
Berdasarkan Keputusan Presiden Republik Indonesia Nomor 38/M Tahun 2023 tanggal 18 September 2023 yang bersangkutan diangkat sebagai Peneliti Ahli Utama di BRIN.
Berdasarkan Keputusan Kepala Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional Nomor 138/I/HK/2025 tanggal 2 Juni 2025 tentang Pembentukan Majelis Pengukuhan Profesor Riset, yang bersangkutan melakukan orasi pengukuhan Profesor Riset.
Menamatkan Sekolah Dasar di SD Kesatuan Bogor pada tahun 1977, Sekolah Menengah Pertama di SMP Regina Pacis Bogor tahun 1981, Sekolah Menengah Atas di SMA Regina Pacis Bogor tahun 1984. Memperoleh gelar sarjana dari Fakultas Biologi Universitas Nasional pada tahun 1988, gelar Master of Science dari Imperial College, University of London, Inggris tahun 1992, dan gelar Doktor di bidang Entomologi dari Cornell University, Amerika Serikat pada tahun 2002.
Mengikuti beberapa pelatihan yang terkait dengan bidang kompetensinya, antara lain: magang (internship) di Entomology Department, British Museum Natural History (sekarang Natural History Museum, London) September 1992 hingga November 1993; program Post Doctoral di Cornell University Insect Collection (CUIC) Januari 2002 hingga Juni 2003.
Jabatan fungsional peneliti diawali sebagai Asisten Peneliti Madya golongan III/a tahun 1994, Asisten Peneliti Madya golongan III/c tahun 2003 (disesuaikan pada tahun 2005 menjadi Peneliti Pertama), Peneliti Muda golongan III/d tahun 2007, Peneliti Madya golongan IV/a tahun 2011, Peneliti Madya golongan IV/b tahun 2015, dan mencapai jabatan Peneliti Ahli Utama golongan IV/c tahun 2023.
Menghasilkan 75 karya tulis ilmiah (KTI) baik yang ditulis sendiri maupun bersama penulis lain dalam bentuk buku, bagian dari buku, jurnal, dan prosiding. Sebanyak 60 KTI ditulis dalam bahasa Inggris, dan 13 dalam bahasa Indonesia dan 2 dwibahasa Inggris dan Indonesia. Menghasilkan 10 karya tulis semi-ilmiah/populer, yaitu 8 berbahasa Indonesia, 1 dwibahasa Inggris dan Indonesia, dan 1 terjemahan ke dalam Bahasa Jepang.
Ikut serta dalam pembinaan kader ilmiah, yaitu sebagai pembimbing skripsi (S1) pada Universitas Al Azhar, pembimbing tesis (S2) pada Institut Pertanian Bogor dan Universitas Brawijaya, pembimbing disertasi (S3) pada Institut Pertanian Bogor dan Universitas Indonesia.
Aktif dalam organisasi profesi ilmiah, yaitu sebagai anggo­ta Masyarakat Zoologi Indonesia sejak tahun 1991, anggota Perhimpunan Biologi Indonesia (2013–sekarang), tim pakar Sekretariat Kewenangan Ilmiah Keanekaragaman Hayati (SKIKH), dan anggota komite International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) sejak 2017 hingga sekarang.
Menerima tanda penghargaan Satyalancana Karya Satya X tahun (2007), XX tahun (2010), dan XXX tahun (2020) dari Presiden RI.
