Dante Saksono Harbuwono, Universitas Indonesia

Prof. dr. Dante Saksono Harbuwono, Sp.PD-KEMD, Ph.D., lahir di Temanggung pada tanggal 23 Maret 1973. Akrab disapa sebagai Prof. Dante, ia merupakan putra pertama dari pasangan Drs. R. Soeprapto dan Sunarsih (alm.). Prof. Dante menikah dengan dr. Mutiara Yasmin Iskandar, Sp.PD pada tahun 2003, dan dikaruniai dua anak, Nicolette Adhaneiss Xaviera Dante, dan Naveen Xavier Dante.
Prof. Dante menjalani pendidikan dasar dan menengah di Tangerang. Setelah lulus dari SMA Negeri 1 Tangerang, Prof. Dante yang awalnya memiliki peminatan pada bidang informatika di ITB, memilih melanjutkan pendidikan sebagai mahasiswa kedokteran di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Indonesia (FKUI) pada tahun 1991. Prof. Dante mulai mencintai dunia kedokteran setelah memulai perkuliahan di FKUI. Setelah lulus dari FKUI pada tahun 1997, Prof. Dante menjalani tugas pengabdian sebagai dokter umum dan kepala puskesmas di Kecamatan Batang Asai, Jambi selama dua tahun, dan kemudian melanjutkan Program Studi Pendidikan Dokter Spesialis Ilmu Penyakit Dalam di FKUI pada tahun 1999 hingga tahun 2004.
Setelah lulus sebagai dokter spesialis penyakit dalam, Prof. Dante bertugas sebagai staf medis di Divisi Endokrin Metabolik dan Diabetes, Departemen Ilmu Penyakit Dalam, FKUI-RSCM, dan kemudian melanjutkan pendidikan S3 (Ph.D.) di University of Yamanashi, Jepang. Prof. Dante menjalani pendidikan Ph.D. di Jepang selama empat tahun, mendalami penelitian pada bidang diabetes molekuler dengan tajuk studi biomolekuler pada artificial pancreas untuk mencari terapi kuratif dari diabetes melitus. Setelah menyelesaikan studi S3 dan kembali ke Indonesia sebagai ahli diabetes molekuler pertama di Indonesia, Prof. Dante menyelesaikan studi sebagai Konsultan Endokrinologi, Metabolisme, dan Diabetes di FKUI pada tahun 2012, dan melanjutkan tugas sebagai staf tetap di Divisi Endokrin Metabolik dan Diabetes, Departemen Penyakit Dalam, FKUI-RSCM.
Prof. Dante aktif dalam berbagai kegiatan pengajaran dan layanan medis unggulan di FKUI-RSCM, di antaranya sebagai pendiri dan Ketua Bidang Riset dan Ventura dari Laboratorium Terpadu FKUI pada tahun 2014–2020, Ketua Klaster Riset Metabolic Disorder, Cardiovascular and Aging, FKUI, Kepala Divisi Endokrin Metabolik dan Diabetes, Departemen Ilmu Penyakit Dalam, FKUI-RSCM tahun 2017–2020, dan Kepala Klaster Diabetik RSCM Kencana tahun 2018–2020. Prof. Dante juga aktif baik sebagai anggota maupun pengurus pada berbagai organisasi endokrinologi, nasional dan internasional; di antaranya sebagai Ketua Perkumpulan Endokrinologi Cabang Jakarta (PERKENI JAYA) tahun 2018–2021, Ketua Umum Himpunan Studi Obesitas Indonesia (HISOBI) tahun 2020–2024, Dewan Pengarah Pengurus Pusat Perkumpulan Endokrinologi Indonesia (PP PERKENI) tahun 2021–2024, Penasihat Perkumpulan Tiroid Indonesia, Indonesian Thyroid Association Cabang Jakarta (InaTa Jaya) tahun 2021–2044, sebagai anggota pada The ASEAN Federation of Endocrine Society (AFES), The European Society of Endocrinology (ESE), dan anggota serta pengurus pada berbagai organisasi lainnya.
Karya ilmiah Prof. Dante meliputi lebih dari 60 publikasi ilmiah, baik pada jurnal nasional maupun internasional, dengan lebih dari 1.000 sitasi dan nilai H-index 14. Prof. Dante juga merupakan penulis dari berbagai karya ilmiah dalam bentuk buku, tim penyusun konsensus pada bidang endokrinologi dan diabetes, serta pembicara dari lebih 50 forum ilmiah, baik nasional maupun internasional. Beberapa penghargaan yang diterima Prof. Dante meliputi Takeda Science Foundations Award, Jepang (2002, 2006), Tajima Awards, Epidemiology of Diabetes, Jepang (2008), Piagam Penghargaan Periset FKUI Potensial Berdasarkan Jumlah Artikel di SCOPUS, FKUI (2013), Tanda Kehormatan Satyalancana Karya Satya X Tahun 2022 Presiden Republik Indonesia, dan berbagai penghargaan lainnya. Prof. Dante dikukuhkan sebagai Guru Besar Tetap Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Indonesia pada tahun 2022.
Saat ini Prof. Dante menjabat sebagai Wakil Menteri Kesehatan Republik Indonesia pada Kabinet Merah Putih, masa jabatan 2024–2029, dan sebelumnya pada Kabinet Indonesia Maju tahun 2020–2024. Prof. Dante juga merupakan Alternate Member of Global Fund to Fight HIV, Tuberculosis, and Malaria sejak 2022, Anggota Panel Ahli Dokter Kepresidenan Republik Indonesia sejak tahun 2014, anggota Dewan Komisaris PT Pertamina Bina Medika IHC, Guru Besar Tetap pada Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Indonesia, serta staf pengajar pada Divisi Endokrin Metabolik dan Diabetes, Departemen Ilmu Penyakit Dalam, FKUI-RSCM.
