Naskah orasi ini menyoroti urgensi transformasi pengelolaan Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) dari pendekatan sektoral ke pengelolaan berbasis lanskap, dari model pengelolaan konservatif dan reaktif, menjadi regeneratif dan adaptif. Berlandaskan pengalaman penelitian lebih dari tigapuluh tahun, orasi ini menegaskan bahwa pengelolaan DAS harus mengintegrasikan ilmu pengetahuan, dan kearifan lokal dalam satu sistem sosio-teknis yang memadukan daya dukung dan daya tampung ekosistem. Beragam inovasi seperti teknik konservasi tanah dan air tepat guna, pengembangan PLTMH partisipatif, pemanfaatan instrumentasi pemantauan real-time berbasis IoT, serta pendekatan sains warga diulas sebagai bukti keberhasilan kolaborasi teknologi dan masyarakat dalam mendorong partisipasi, meningkatkan kesejahteraan, serta menjaga keberlanjutan ekologis. Dengan menekankan pentingnya partisipasi lokal, insentif ekonomi, dan kebijakan berbasis riset, naskah ini menawarkan kerangka kebijakan dan aksi nyata untuk mewujudkan DAS yang sehat dan produktif, dan berkeadilan secara berkelanjutan lintas generasi.
