Synopsis

Etnomusikologi merupakan cabang ilmu yang mempelajari musik dalam konteks budaya manusia. Dalam era globalisasi yang semakin terkoneksi, pemahaman tentang etnomusikologi menjadi semakin penting karena melintasi batas-batas budaya dan membuka jendela ke dalam kekayaan warisan musikal yang tersebar di seluruh dunia. Studi etnomusikologi memungkinkan kita untuk merespons dinamika perubahan budaya terus-menerus. Dalam era modern, musik menjadi salah satu wadah utama bagi perubahan sosial dan ekspresi identitas budaya.

Buku Etnomusikologi dan Isu-Isu Terkini di Selingkarnya diharapkan tidak hanya menjadi sumber informasi dan pengetahuan, tetapi juga dapat menjadi dorongan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan apresiasi terhadap etnomusikologi sebagai bidang studi yang relevan dan bermanfaat bagi perkembangan budaya dan musik di Indonesia dan dunia.

Author Biography

Aris Setiawan, Setiawan

Adalah seorang Etnomusikolog yang rajin melakukan pencatatan peristiwa musik untuk dipublikasikan di media massa. Beberapa karya tulisnya rutin terbit di Harian Kompas, Koran Tempo, Majalah Tempo, Jawa Pos, Detik.com, Kedaulatan Rakyat, Suara Merdeka, Solopos, Majalah Basis, Nusantara Institute, Republika, Basa-basi.co, Koran Jakarta, Koran Kontan, dan Etnis.id. Ia juga aktif menulis di jurnal ilmiah, seperti Dewa Ruci, Sorai, Gelar, Terob, Resital, Music Scholarship, Pelataran Seni, Harmonia, Abdi Seni, International Journal of Arts and Technology, Malaysian Journal of Music (MJM). Aris tercatat sebagai penulis pada buku Pendidikan Budi Pekerti dalam Pertunjukan Wayang (2011), Para Maestro Gamelan (2018), Semesta Bunyi Kata (2021), Jurnalistik dan Kritik Musik (2021), Meneroka Musisi, Mengarsip Memori (2023). Saat ini, Aris sebagai pengajar di Jurusan Etnomusikologi, Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Surakarta.
Sejak tahun 2020, Aris juga diminta mengajar di Program Pascasarjana ISI Surakarta untuk matakuliah Kuratorial, Manajemen Publikasi, dan Seni-Keindonesiaan. Terkait riwayat pendidikan, pada tahun 2008, Aris mendapat gelar sarjananya di Program Studi Etnomusikologi ISI Surakarta dengan predikat Cumlaude. Tahun 2010, pada Minat Kajian Musik di Program Pascasarjana ISI Surakarta, ia juga lulus dengan predikat Cumlaude. Puncaknya, tahun 2020, pada Program Studi Pengkajian Seni Pertunjukan dan Seni Rupa (PSPSR), Sekolah Pascasarjana Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta, juga dengan predikat Cumlaude. Aris Setiawan aktif menjadi narasumber di berbagai seminar nasional dan internasional. Saat ini, Aris tergabung dalam Akademi Ilmuwan Muda Indonesia (ALMI), juga aktif menjadi asesor Jurnal Ilmiah Nasional, Asesor Beban Kinerja Dosen (BKD) Nasional.
