Synopsis

Hambor merupakan tradisi perdamaian yang terdapat di Manggarai, Flores, Nusa Tenggara Timur. Kata hambor berasal dari kata bahasa Manggarai yang berarti 'damai'. Hal ini merupakan tradisi yang hidup dan berkembang turun-temurun dalam keseharian masyarakat. Orang Manggarai menempatkan hambor sebagai identitas sekaligus entitas yang menjadi tanda pengikat untuk mempersatukan.
Buku Hambor: Inspirasi Perdamaian dari Manggarai, Flores menceritakan secara utuh bagaimana tradisi hambor membentuk identitas masyarakat Manggarai, terutama dalam penyelesaian konflik. Penulis mengelaborasi dan mengeksplorasi berbagai aspek terkait hambor, baik secara teoretis maupun praktis. Buku ini bisa menjadi rujukan menarik bagi para peneliti, pengajar, dan masyarakat yang tertarik dengan sejarah tradisi hambor yang ada di Manggarai.

Author Biography

Maksimilianus Jemali, Universitas Katolik Indonesia Santu Paulus Ruteng

Maksimilianus Jemali lahir di Tuke (Manggarai-Flores) pada tanggal 12 Agustus 1982. Ia menjalankan pendidikan menengah di SMP-SMA Seminari Pius XII Kisol (1995–2001). Studi S-1 filsafat di STFK Ledalero (2003-2007) dan S-2 teologi kontekstual di STFK Ledalero (2009–2011). Penulis menjadi pengajar di MTs-MAS Pondok Pesantren Walisanga Ende (2007–2008) dan wartawan lepas HU Flores Pos (2007–2008). Pengajar di SMP-SMA Seminari Petrus van Diepen Sorong, Papua Barat (2008–2009). Ia menjadi bagian dari dua komunitas berbeda dengan latar belakang agama dan kebudayaan berbeda senantiasa memperkaya pengetahuan dan pengalaman tentang dialog lintas batas. Pada tahun 2009–2010 menjabat sebagai ketua redaksi seri buku VOX Ledalero, Maumere.
Semasa kuliah hingga sekarang, penulis aktif menulis fitur dan opini (bertemakan politik, pendidikan, sastra, agama, budaya, filsafat, dan teologi) di beberapa media massa dan jurnal. Penulis menulis monograf Teologi Hitam dan Teologi Ubuntu Desmond Tutu, Inspirasi pembebasan dan rekonsiliasi (Asdamedia, 2014), Pedoman Penulisan Artikel Ilmiah Jurnal Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Universitas Negeri Malang, 2015), Tindakan Politik-Perspektif Hannah Arendt (Ledalero, 2017), dan Filsafat Budaya Politik (Unika St.Paulus, 2024). Menjalankan studi doktoral di Indonesian Consortium for Religious Studies (ICRS), Universitas Gadjah Mada (2018–2022).
Saat menjalankan studi doktoral di UGM, ia pernah men­da­pat­kan penghargaan dari Nusantara Institute sebagai pemenang untuk perlombaan penulisan proposal disertasi terbaik tingkat ­nasional (2021). Dibimbing oleh akademisi-akademisi kenamaan ICRS UGM seperti Dr. Zainal Abidin Bagir, Prof. Dr. JB. Banawiratma, Prof. Dr. Wening Udasmoro, S.S., M.Hum.,DEA, Prof. Al Makin, Prof. Dr. Robert Setyo, Prof. Dr. Fatimah Husein, Dr. Abdul Wahid, M.Phil., Dr. Dicky Sofjan, Dr. Leonard C.
