Synopsis

Studi geologi kawasan karst telah banyak dilakukan di Indonesia, namun studi keanekaragaman hayati yang hidup di dalamnya masih belum banyak dilakukan. Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia melalui Pusat Penelitian Biologi sejak tahun 2001 merupakan pelopor dalam pengungkapan keanekaragaman hayati karst, dan Buku Pedoman Inventarisasi Biota Karst & Gua ini disusun untuk melanjutkan tradisi Pusat Penelitian Biologi sebagai yang terdepan dalam pengungkapan keanekaragaman hayati karst di Indonesia. Salah satu langkah awal dalam pengungkapan valuasi keanekaragaman hayati karst adalah dengan melakukan inventarisasi keanekaragaman hayati karst (flora, fauna, dan mikrob). Dalam buku ini dijelaskan metode dalam melakukan survei serta inventarisasi keanekaragaman hayati karst dari para ahli biologi yang kompeten dan berpengalaman di bidangnya masing-masing. Metode, alat, dan bahan yang dipakai dibuat sederhana, namun tetap sesuai standar ilmiah yang berlaku sehingga diharapkan mudah untuk dipahami oleh masyarakat umum, mahasiswa, dosen, penggiat konservasi, dan mereka yang tertarik untuk mempelajari keanekaragaman hayati Indonesia.

Author Biographies

Conni Margaretha Sidabalok, Pusat Riset Biologi BRIN

Conni memiliki latar belakang S1 dari Jurusan Biologi Universitas Padjadjaran dan S2-S3 dari Jurusan Marine Biology (Biologi Kelautan) James Cook University Australia. Conni memulai karir sebagai peneliti
di LIPI sejak 2005 dengan kepakaran dalam bidang taksonomi Isopoda dan sudah menghasilkan sejumlah tulisan ilmiah terkait bidangnya di jurnal internasional. Pada tahun 2018, Conni mendapatkan
penghargaan sebagai peneliti dengan Penemuan Jenis Baru Terbanyak 2018 di Pusat Penelitian Biologi LIPI.

Yayuk Rahayuningsih, Pusat Riset Biologi BRIN

Sejak 2002 Prof. Yayuk bersama tiga orang peneliti LIPI, Agustinus Suyanto, Ristiyanti M. Marwoto, dan Cahyo Rahmadi menjadi pionir penelitian biospeleologi di Indonesia. Berkat jasanya dalam perkembangan speleologi di Indonesia, tidak mengherankan jika beliau disebut sebagai Ibu Speleologi Indonesia. Prof. Yayuk sering menjadi pemimpin tim ekspedisi biota karst dan gua dalam skala nasional maupun internasional. Pengalaman lapangan yang cukup lama membuatnya tidak hanya mahir dalam metode koleksi kelompok yang ditekuni (Collembola), tetapi juga takson lainnya. Pengetahuan dalam biota karst dan gua membuat ibu satu anak ini sering diminta untuk menjadi narasumber, editor, dan mitra bestari.

Hari Nugroho, Pusat Riset Biologi BRIN

Hari Nugroho menyelesaikan gelar sarjana dalam bidang biologi di Universitas Gadjah Mada pada tahun 2001 dan bergabung sebagai peneliti di LIPI sejak tahun 2005. Pada 2011, Hari melanjutkan Pendidikan
doctoral di Ibaraki University, Jepang, melalui program JSPS Ronpaku dan selesai pada 2015. Kepakaran yang ditekuni oleh Hari adalah taksonomi tawon Vespidae dengan keahlian tambah taksonomi cacing tanah. Hari menjadi anggota beberapa organisasi profesi, seperti International Society of Hymenpterists, Japan Society for Systematic Zoology (JSSZ), Masyarakat Taksonomi Fauna Indonesia (MTFI) dan Masyarakat Zoologi Indonesia (MZI). Hari telah menghasilkan sejumlah publikasi ilmiah di jurnal internasional dan nasional, buku dan buku rampai yang terkait dengan keahliannya. Sejak tahun 2015,
Hari aktif di Komite Nasional Program MAB-UNESCO Indonesia-LIPI sebagai Direktur Penelitian dan Pengembangan. Hari juga terlibat dalam berbagai kegiatan ekspedisi ilmiah, seperti Ekspedisi Widya
Nusantara LIPI (2007–2008) di Kepulauan Raja Ampat (Waigeo dan Batanta). Pada tahun 2016 Hari menjadi koordinator Ekspedisi Tambrauw di Papua Barat.

Cahyo Rahmadi, Pusat Riset Biologi BRIN

Cahyo Rahmadi menyelesaikan gelar sarjana dalam bidang biologi di Universitas Gadjah Mada pada tahun 2000 dan bergabung sebagai peneliti di LIPI sejak tahun 2003. Pada tahun 2008 melanjutkan studi
S3 di Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Ibaraki University di Jepang dan selesai tahun 2012. Kepakaran yang digeluti saat ini adalah taksonomi kalacemeti, Amblypygi dengan pendekatan biogeografi di Asia Tenggara. Kegiatan penelitian yang sering dilakukan yaitu biologi gua, dan keanekaragaman Arachnida secara umum. Kegiatan ekspedisi yang pernah diikuti seperti Ekspedisi Santo, Vanuatu (2006) yang diorganisir oleh MNHN, Paris Prof Fauna dan IRD, Perancis. Selain itu,  Ekspedisi WidyaNusantara LIPI (2007–2008) dimotori oleh LIPI di Waigeo dan Batanta juga terlibat selama dua tahun. Ekspedisi Muller LIPI (2004–2005), Ekspedisi Maros Karst LIPI (2005–2008), Ekspedisi Sangkulirang LIPI-TNC (2004). Sedikitnya 30 karya tulis telah diterbitkan. Kegiatan di konservasi karst dan gua juga ditekuni bersama Masyarakat Speleologi. Indonesia (Indonesian Speleological Society). Saat ini juga menjadi bagian dari Cave Invertebrate Specialists Group IUCN untuk kelompok arthropoda gua di Indonesia. Beberapa penghargaan pernah diterima salah satunya sebagai Alumni Muda Berprestasi 2015 dan juga mendapatkan Marsh Award 2017 untuk Terrestrial Conservation Leadership.
