The Butterflies of Jambi (Sumatra, Indonesia): An EFForTS Field Guide

She was born in Medan on June 7, 1982. She obtained a bachelor’s
degree (S.Si) from Cenderawasih University Jayapura Papua in 2004.
A master’s degree (2011), and Doctor (2020) was obtained from the
Bogor Institute of Agriculture. Rawati (nickname) is a lecturer in the
Department of Biology at the University of Papua since 2005. The
author has served as Chair of the Department of Biology at the
University of Papua for the period 2012–2016. She is also active in
national and international scientific meetings related to biology.

He is a lecturer at the Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of
Agriculture, IPB University. He works in the Insect Biotaxonomy
Laboratory and has interest in biodiversity and taxonomy of agricultural
insects, including pests, predators, parasitoids, and other
beneficial insects. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture
at the Department of Plant Protection, IPB University, Indonesia
in 1985. He holds a Master’s in Entomology from the University of
Wisconsin-Madison, USA in 1992 and also earned his Doctorate in

She is a butterfly research staff at the Entomology Laboratory, Zoology
Division, (Bogor Zoology Museum), Biology Research Center,
LIPI since 1990. She graduated from the Faculty of Biology, National
University, Jakarta in 1988. She continued her studies and obtained
a Master’s degree in Science from Imperial College, University of
London, England, in 1992. The Doctor of Philosophy degree was
obtained from the Entomology Department, Cornell University,
United States in 2002. As a butterfly systemeticist, she has written
several books: Practical Guide to Butterflies of Bogor Botanic Garden
(Panduan Praktis Kupu-kupu di Kebun Raya Bogor), the book Precious
and Protected Indonesian Butterflies (Kupu-kupu Indonesia yang
Bernilai dan Dilindungi), and the book Mengenal Kupu-kupu. She is
also active in writing in several international and national journal,
and plays an active role as a keynote speaker at scientific seminars.

Laboratory at the Department of Plant Protection and head of
Center for Transdisciplinary and Sustainability Sciences (CTSS), IPB
University. Her research interests are on insect ecology, biological
control, and conservation. She began her Bachelor’s education in
the Department of Pest and Plant Diseases, IPB University, Indonesia
in 1984. She continued her Master’s education in the Entomology
Department, University of Illinois, USA in 1989. After that, she continued
her Doctorate in Ecology, Evolution, and Behaviour at Biology

Prof. Dr. Stefan Scheu is head of the Animal Ecology Group, JFBInstitute
for Zoology and Anthropology, University of Göttingen,
Germany. He is interested in the diversity, ecology and evolution
of soil animals, decomposer communities, rhizosphere ecology,
and food web ecology. He earned his Diploma in Biology at the
University of Göttingen. Then, he continued as Postdoc at the JFBInstitute
for Zoology and Anthropology, University of Göttingen and
at the University of Calgary, Canada. In 1997, he was appointed as
Professor of Zoology and Ecology at Damstadt University of Technology,
Germany. Since 2008, he holds the Chair in Animal Ecology

He is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Animal
Ecology, Faculty of Biology and Psychology, Göttingen

Germany. Jochen Drescher started his studies at
the RWTH Aachen, Germany, earning his pre-diploma in 2003.
In 2006, he received his full diploma from the Department
of Animal Ecology and Tropical Biology, Würzburg University,
Germany, where he also completed his doctoral studies in 2011.
After an interim position at the Department of Animal Ecology
I, Bayreuth University, Germany, he joined the EFForTS project
