Synopsis

Etnobotani adalah disiplin ilmu yang memadukan antropologi dan botani. Dengan sendirinya, hal ikhwal di kedua disiplin ilmu tersebut, mulai dari falsafah, terminologi hingga metode penelitian dan analisa juga dipelajari dalam etnobotani. Etnobotani memberikan pemahaman bagaimana manusia berinteraksi dengan flora sekitarnya, bukan hanya sebatas pemanfaatan tetapi juga dalam konteks yang lebih luas, seperti budaya, agama, ekonomi, dan sebagai identitas suatu masyarakat.

Buku Pengantar Penelitian Etnobotani hadir untuk membuka, menginformasikan, dan memberikan wawasan masyarakat mengenai etnobotani dalam mengungkapkan kebijaksanaan tradisional yang terkait dengan pemanfaatan tumbuhan untuk berbagai keperluan, mulai dari obat-obatan hingga kepercayaan dan spiritual. Buku ini dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber referensi bagi masyarakat awam maupun peneliti dan akademisi untuk pembelajaran terkait etnobotani.

Author Biographies

Mohammad Fathi Royyani, Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional (BRIN)

Peneliti madya di Pusat Riset Ekologi dan Etnobiologi, Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional (BRIN). Riset-risetnya mengenai etnobotani dan human ecology. Pendidikan S1 pada jurusan Sejarah dan Kebudayaan Islam IAIN (sekarang UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. S2 dan S3 pada jurusan Antropologi Universitas Indonesia (UI). ­Hasil-hasil penelitiannya ditulis dalam bentuk laporan perjalanan juga di­terbitkan pada jurnal internasioanl dan nasional. Selain itu juga aktif menulis ­populer di berbagai media massa. Di antara buku yang telah diterbitkannya adalah Pandan of java (IPB Press), Manusia Kosmik: Relasi Manusia dan Keanekaragaman Hayati dalam isu Konservasi (Pustaka Compass). Pendidikan S1 dan S2 pada jurusan Arkeologi di Universitas Indonesia. Ary Prihardhyanto Keim, Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional (BRIN)

Seorang ahli botani senior di Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional (BRIN). Ia telah bekerja di instansi tersebut selama lebih dari 20 tahun dan memiliki minat yang kuat pada suku Pandanaceae. Pada tahun 2019, beliau bekerja sebagai Staf Khusus Wakil Menteri Koordinator Bidang Kema­ritiman dengan fokus pada Marine Botany, Etnobiologi khususnya pada Etnobiologi Rempah Indonesia, Etnobotani Kelautan dengan fokus pada Jalur Rempah Maritim Indonesia, dan mengenai Pemanasan Global dan Perubahan Iklim.
