Synopsis

Melalui teknologi densifikasi, jenis-jenis kayu kurang dikenal dan cepat tumbuh dapat diolah menjadi produk seperti lantai kayu atau bahan bangunan lainnya, sedangkan melalui teknologi pelengkungan, dapat dijadikan produk mebel berbentuk lengkung, rangka sepeda, dan produk inovatif lainnya. Melalui kerjasama dengan mitra swasta, pemanfaatan jenis-jenis kayu kurang dikenal dan cepat tumbuh tersebut telah dikembangkan menjadi meja dan kursi berbentuk lengkung dan rangka sepeda kayu/Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) lengkung. Orasi ini memaparkan tentang pemanfaatan jenis-jenis kayu kurang dikenal dan cepat tumbuh melalui teknologi densifikasi dengan mengembangkan produk akhir seperti lantai kayu dan komponen-komponen bangunan lainnya, sedangkan teknologi pelengkungan kayu/LVL dapat dikembangkan menjadi produk inovatif lainnya dengan inovasi desain-desain baru untuk masa yang akan datang.

Menamatkan Sekolah Dasar Dana Pembangunan Nasional
(Dapena) Surabaya tahun 1972, Sekolah Menengah Pertama
Yayasan Perguruan Cikini Jakarta tahun 1975, dan Sekolah Menengah
Atas Yayasan Perguruan Cikini Jakarta tahun 1978/1979.
Memperoleh gelar Sarjana Kehutanan dari Institut Pertanian
Bogor (IPB) tahun 1984, gelar Magister bidang Agriculture dari
Kyoto University tahun 1996, dan gelar Doktor bidang Agriculture
dari Kyoto University tahun 1999.
